Summer residency at Millbank Tower
I participated in the summer residency at Millbank Tower Podium, where I met fellow MA and PhD students and artists from different UAL colleges. The exchange in ideas was valuable, and I benefitted the most from peer-to-peer mentoring sessions, where I met three MA Curation students from Chelsea College of Arts. They shared insights that opened new readings to current shows across London, and we also had a chance to work on an exhibition together. I also delivered a photography workshop on capturing artworks on display, in which I shared my experience on exhibition documentation and how to capture the dynamics of a gallery space. This was the first time that I led a workshop, as I practiced how to present concepts clearly and follow the participants' interests. I am glad that those attended have found it useful. I was also the photographer for two of the exhibitions held during the residency, which helped enhance my skills in exhibition documentation.

Afterwalls Exhibition
Afterwalls: Of the Panopticon and Its Ruins is a group exhibition held at Millbank Tower during the residency. Reflecting on the historical significance of Millbank’s geographical area, the theme of “Afterwalls” was centered around notions of Jeremy Bentham’s panopticon. I am glad to be selected for the show, joining fellow residents and UAL Alumni, including one that graduated in the 60s. I am inspired by the dialogues between works in a wide range of mediums, dealing with the common themes of power, institution and surveillance. Eventually I exhibited two pieces, one of them was the new rendition of Something (20240101-). Previously I was reluctant to print this work on vinyl for the degree show, this show gave me an opportunity to experiment with this printing method. As the room I was allocated has both glass walls and concrete walls, a see-through sticker is a better medium than matte paper to achieve a smooth transition across the two wall materials. I am glad to see my work surrounding the viewers, and I like the shadows it leaves at the back of the glass panel, but vinyl stickers are quite unforgiving to install and can only be used once. The experience gives insight on how the work can evolve in future.

Exhibiting in London
My works are featured in exhibitions across London. My unit 2 work @24framesoftruth is included in the Perceive show at Espacio Gallery, where I gain experience in installation and pricing. I am glad to show my work Fixing Eternity at Crypt Gallery for the exhibition WATER OIL HONEY. It is a unique experience to situate social media content in the underground stone chamber built 200 years ago.
In Unit 1 I made works in response to the 茶, चाय Tea exhibition at Horniman Museum. The works have a chance to "return" to Horniman Museum, looking at the heritage relics that inspire their making before the whole exhibition concludes.

Publications
Over the past year I have been writing articles introducing current exhibitions in London, which are published on Mingpao, a Hong Kong Newspaper. I am glad to introduce London's vibrant art scene to readers in Hong Kong. Shows that I have covered include Hiroshi Sugimoto's retrospective at Haywood Gallery, and Mat Collishaw's new show at Kew Gardens. Because of the reporting, I develop my deeper intuition on the galleries' different curatorial approach, as well as get to know more about the artists' unique practices.
My work Fixing Eternity was also featured on Mingpao in July 2024.

Exposures
The degree show work series Phantasmagoria is shortlisted from over 5,000 entries for the Global Creative Graduate Showcase 2024, which is the 5th edition of Art Threads' worldwide online showcase. The platform gives exposure to a global audience; I am also benefitted from other finalists by looking at how they blend different digital technology to address a wide range of themes, from family history and diaspora to LGBTQ+ representation.
I was also featured in Luminoir Art's artist interview series.
